Player SafeSport Requirements

Players born in 2009 or earlier are required by USA Hockey to complete SafeSport Training before participating in team activities for the 2026–2027 season.

Getting Started:

To complete this requirement, players must:

• Register with USA Hockey and obtain a valid USA Hockey Confirmation Number.
• Log in to the USA Hockey SafeSport Training Portal using their USA Hockey account.
• Complete the required training before participating in team activities.
• Maintain a current SafeSport certification throughout the season.

SafeSport Training Information

• Core Training: Required for players completing SafeSport training for the first time.
• Refresher Training: Players who have previously completed the Core Training will complete the annual Refresher Course to remain compliant for the upcoming season.
• After completing Refresher Course 3, players will return to the Core Training the following season and repeat the training cycle.

Younger players are not required to complete the full SafeSport course, but all players are expected to follow team rules, respect teammates and coaches, maintain appropriate locker-room behavior, and report bullying, harassment, abuse, or other concerning conduct to a trusted adult or program representative. USA Hockey also offers optional age-appropriate athlete education, but those optional courses do not replace required SafeSport training.
